Description

This seems to be related on some parts which have cargo on them.
If you add those parts and click shift + left mouse on them, trying to move whole ship, it makes ship dissappear.

So far these parts seems be bugged:

PPD-10 Hitchhiker Storage Container
Mobile Processing Lab MPL-LG-2 (sometimes)
and all new Cargo parts after 1.11

Sometimes if you add something on first slot, first time shift clicking doesn't remove ship, but second time it does.

I highly recommend that you do not confirm bugs yourself.

Input from others trying to confirm your bug will allow for more credibility

  • Subject changed from Shift click moving at ship building makes ship disappear to Shift click moving at ship building makes ship disappear (anth12 adding: root part size verses Cargo part causes issue and nullref)

GOG KSP 1.11.0 (no mods/no DLCs)

Confirmed:

Its got something to do with the size of the root part verses the cargo part attached.

How to replicate:
1. Create a craft with an OKTO2
2. Attach the Hitchhiker underneath
3. Use Left Shift and Left Mouse button and click on the Hitchhiker
4. Use the Left Mouse button again.

Important Information:

1. If the root part has a bigger diameter than the part that uses cargo it doesn't cause the bug.
2. If the root part is longer than the part that uses cargo it seems that the bug also may not occur.
3. To have the bug definitely occur use Left Shift and Left Mouse button on the cargo part.
4. Testing didnt involve radially attachment of parts

This is following the exact steps from my previous comments:

1. Create a craft with an OKTO2
2. Attach the Hitchhiker underneath
3. Use Left Shift and Left Mouse button and click on the Hitchhiker
4. Use the Left Mouse button again.

This seems to be fixed on 1.11.2, patch changelog doesn't show anything about this.

I'm on version 1.11.2 (03077 Linux build).
Still occurs here with the Mk1-3 command pod (see bug #27956).
Size differences seem to be part of the issue, but not all of it. Pairing a Probodobodyne QBE with a Mk2 Lander Can does not provoke the error, but using the Mk3 Cockpit it shows up again.
Combining a RC-L01 with a Mk3 Cockpit works fine again, although I would consider the RC-L01 smaller than the cockpit?
Maybe the second part has to be both significantly taller and wider than the first to trigger the bug?

still happens at 1.12
