Description

I have been playing KSP for a while on this computer, I recently updated to 1.12 and for a week or so I was playing without trouble, but since a few days ago, the graphics are totally broken, showing this weird lines and shapes all the time, in all of the game screens, Star Menu, KSC, Map, Fly mode, everywhere.

I have fully updated graphics drivers, uninstalled KSP from Steam and reinstalled, played around with settings but nothing seems to work.

My computer is a DELL laptop Inspiron 5547, with 8GB of RAM, Windows 10 Home 64-bit and its GPU is AMD Radeon R7 M260. I made no hardware or software changes recently.

I helped someone in the last week who hadn't had KSP work for months.

He had uninstalled KSP using steam as well.

Steam doesn't remove everything when it uninstalls. So when reinstalled it isn't actually a clean install and can still be corrupted.

What needs to happen is the following:
  1. Backup your saves and mods (minus the Squad and Squad Expansion folder)
  2. Delete everything inside the Kerbal Space Program folder (in your case from the log file it is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\)
  3. Then get Steam to "Verify integrity of game files..." (right click on Kerbal Space Program on the left menu-right click properties-then Local Files)
  4. Then Steam will replace all the missing files with new ones and it will be a true clean install
  5. Then you can replace the mods and saves (careful with mods for new updates. 1.12 is having issues with some)

Thank you Anth12, I am trying this right now. Will let you know how it goes.

Nope, I did exactly as Anth12 suggested but nothing changed.
Everything appears broken, from the loading screens to flying.

Hey.

I also have an Inspiron 5547 with the exact same configuration. But here it is working normally. What graphics driver do you use? The generic AMD driver or the driver available on the Dell website?

I was using the Dell preinstalled stuff until recently, so it was under those that the problem started.
I did try the generic AMD driver (installed the AMD Radeon Software package) to see if it would fix anything but nothing changed.
