Description

Recently (since March 3rd, 2020) I have been unable to play Kerbal Space Program on the latest Debian Unstable version.

Now, when I try to launch KSP, the game starts up for but a split second before crashing, not even showing the loading screen. Logs are useless in trying to figure this problem out - the game doesn't have enough time to generate one - as is strace, gdb and even the Unity Player.log. This affects more than KSP - it also affects Cities Skylines and (Presumably) any other Unity game. I've filed this under 1.8.1, because this is the version I use most, but the same crash occurs in 1.9, 1.8.0, and 1.7.3.

My specifications are:
- AMD Ryzen 3400G
- 16 GB RAM
- Sapphire 4GB RX 480
- Dual Soundcards - Realtek integrated and Ensoniq PCI CT8550
- Debian Sid, updated daily.

Player.log (8.09 KB) Player.log this is the Unity Player.log, as found in /home/$USER/.config/unity3d/Squad/Kerbal Space Program folder roryyamm, 03/14/2020 02:04 PM

Reinstalling KSP, removing my mods, and reinstalling my OS have done nothing to help. Something is crashing KSP and all other unity games, and it has something to do with my hardware.

Is there any chance you could try this with an install of Ubuntu 18.0.4 LTS? KSP is DRM-free, so you may be able to get away with running a copy from a LiveUSB boot (assuming you can create a live boot with accelerated GPU drivers), rather than uprooting the main OS.
