Description

If the SM-25 Service Module is placed under another node attaching part and an internal node attaching part is added to any node then after a save and load the top center inside node will no longer be present.

To repeat:
1) place SM-25 Service Module, turn shroud off
2) place Service Bay (2.5m) above it
3) place SM-6A Service Module on the bottom center node (or wherever)
4) save and load and observe that there is no longer a top center node

The only way to get it back seems to be to remove the service module and add a new one.

This seems like a new bug in 1.7.0 since when I loaded the craft from Bug #21141, generated in 1.6.1, the top center node was still there until I made a change to an inside node (removing then replacing the same part).

I followed these steps and could not reproduce this. Could you upload a craft file or make a video of you building the craft with the issue?

Okay, it appears that step 3 is the internal bottom center (1.25m size) node of the SM-25 and not the external (2.5m size) bottom center node.

After a little fiddling, I can confirm this report.
Step 2&3 can be any node-attached part.
Step 3 must be an internal node.

Screenshots attached show the top center internal node disappearing with only adding oscar-b tanks, or experiment storage units to the SM-25. They key here is being sure they are node-attached.

I can't change the version number for some reason but it is still happening in 1.11.0.
