Description

While working on a spacecraft, i noticed a strange behavior of passive radiator panels: All passive radiator panels are pulling heat from a heatsource no matter where the panels are placed on the craft. They are working like the active panels, but without EC consumption and without the need to activate them.

I talked with RoverDude during a Twitch stream and he explained, that the passive radiator panels should only pull heat from its parent part and silblings. But this not the case.

I have build a testrig to confirm the strange new behavior of the passive radiator panels.

I used 3 Mainsail engines for (massive) heatgeneration. The X200 fueltanks are used to create many parts inbetween the radiator stacks. Largest fueltanks as fuelreserve for teh test. On top of the testrig is a fairing with passive radiator panels too.

Confirmed, but also fluctuating numbers during flight.

Second picture in that album show red radiator panels on the nose, and it depends on heat production by the Goliath's.

Thank you for reporting this. Passive radiators should only draw heat from the parent part, and its children. The images and craft indicate that the heat is being drawn from much further away.

testet it again with my old testrig. static radiators are working as intended now. Only the ones near the heat source got heated, even if all were activated.

bug is fixed.
