Bug #9438
Shift key does not work.
100%
Description
Pressing shift in flight mode does not seem to affect the throttle the way it is supposed to. Mapping throttle up to other keys does work, as does pressing Z, but shift does not do anything. Holding shift in the editor does not seem to have any effect either.
My Shift key does however work outside of KSP so I don't think it's my keyboard's fault.

What keyboard layout do you use? Is your keyboard a standard QWERTY?
I think devs will need more information to look into your issue because SHIFT key does work for me on my laptop and desktop. (Both have QWERTY keyboards.)

It's a normal QUERTY keyboard with an EN US layout. Model is SteelSeries 6Gv2 with Cherry MX red switches. I'm running windows 10 home insider preview build 14316.
But as I said I don't think this is the keyboard's fault, because the shift key works just fine outside of KSP.

I am having the same issue. As DerKosmos said, remapping throttle up works and shift works fine outside of game. Shift doesn't work with EVA either.
In settings > input you can't map either LShift or RShift to any control. Ctrl, Alt, etc. can be assigned.
It's a fresh install and I have no mods running.
KSP: Version 1.1.0.1230(x64)
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Guys, you should provide dxdiag.log to help fix this problem. It may be a driver or software issue.
I have no problems with my 'standard' keyboards so it's definitely a machine specific issue.

Where do I find that?

Ugh, problem appears to have fixed itself.

For me it seems to be a Synergy issue not KSP. Works fine with the service stopped but not when it is running. If DerKosmos is happy then the bug can be closed.

I watched my friend have this same issue. It disappeared when he closed Synergy too.

Seems to be a bug in either Unity or Synergy.
Workaround, don't use synergy.

Yes I do use synergy, that must have been it.
