Description

If you have a pair of mystery goo in symmetry, and you right click on one and pin it's menu open then right click on the other the right click menu does not come up and it becomes impossible to select another parts right click menu or to dismiss the one that was pinned open. It gets the UI to a broken state and the only way to recover is to restart the mision.

#9325 seems similar, but it was marked as 'Not a bug', maybe by accident. The mod-key (Alt on windows) doesn´t work, after trying to open the context menus for parts placed in symmetry.
Theres also #9296 on the pre-release tracker, which might be the same.

More information is required.

What are the exact reproduction steps to get this to occur in a new save?

Are there any log entries, attach your KSP.log and output_log.txt

I was not able to reproduce this based on your report, one of my goo pods is pinned and I am still able to open other action menus.

1) Load a vessel with some parts, that are placed in symmetry (Like the stock 'Jumping Flea'), or build your own
2) Right click and pin the first goo pod
3) Right click (without(!) using 'alt' or whatever the mod key is for you) the other goo pod
4) Any subsequent attempt to open any context menu (with or without the mod key) will fail

Note: At step 3, a NullRef will occur

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Is marked as linux issue but all ksp.log tell they are using Win10

I have the same problem. I'm running Windows 10 x64.

The problem occurs with KSP x32 and x64 with any part.

I have tested this with a clean KSP.

When the problem occurs, I can't open or close any context menu without going back to Space Center and then back to the craft.

I confirm this bug too. The way to reproduce bag is:
1) Create any vessel with symetrically attached parts.
2) Go to launch. Call context menu of part with symetry by clicking right mouse button. Pin it! Then call context menu of another part with symetry of first clicked part. No changes will be seen. At this moment DEBUG say:
"_[Exception]: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object_"
3) Any another clicks will not hide any context menus, even if you'll unpin it. Speaking in programming terms - any methods that show or hide context menus stop working... Until restart scene.

This bug was previously described in #9325.

I can confirm it too.

After i  pin the mystery goo unit stats, i cannot right click on anything else. I have to revert the flight to launch, in order to use the right click anymore.

As far as i tested , all parts that are symmetrical had done it.
