Unable to place parts in VAB/SPH due to broken symmetry

Description
Spamming faring construction inside parts (so it can't be placed) results in breaking the symmetry so that no parts can be placed. Tried re-entry into fab and was still broken also broken in sph. First part on a vessel cannot be placed while this bug is observed.
