Win 64, all DLC, no mods, updated over time

When undocking or switching ships, I keep getting a flashing error saying something like, "Cannot deploy part while not on surface of a planet", even though I'm not trying to deploy anything. This happens in space and on the ground, and seems to happen when SAS is on while taking control of a ship, or possibly if I move the "wasd" controls just after taking control of the ship. I can reproduce it by going to my mining base and swapping between the various nearby vessels repeatedly and wiggling them around after swapping.

This error doesn't hurt anything as far as I can tell. It's just kinda annoying.
