Kerbal Space Program

Before 1.8 came out it was a widely used technique in the stock replica building community to edit craft files to allow control surfaces to deploy beyond what they were originally intended to deploy. This allowed for airbrakes, complex flaps for airliners, and low-partcount bomb bay doors. This behavior is no longer present in 1.8, breaking many existing replicas and making it impossible to accieve the same functionality that was previously possible.
Removing this limitation would not break the game in any way since it isn't usually accessible from the main game, but it would allow more advanced players to use all the features they had at hand before.
I also do not think this is considered cheating as this is a sandbox game made to encourage thinking outside of the box and making anything one likes to build. Of course, in Science or Career mode it could be considered cheating but before 1.8 it was common practice not to use the edited files there as it would simply ruin the challenge when playing a career mode game, this however does not apply to sanbox mode.¶

Steps to recreate:

• load provided craft file in 1.7 and deploy the control sufrace
• do the same in 1.8
• observe the behavior shown in the pictures below
