KSP 1.7.3 MH + BG (no mods)
KSP 1.8.0 MH + BG (no mods)
KSP 1.8.1 MH + BG (no mods)

If the craft is going to take more than one stage to use all the fuel for a maneuver, there are very defined divisions between the stages in 1.7.3

However in 1.8.0/1.8.1 there's what appears to be a white space between the yellow instead.
