Kerbal Space Program

Greetings, Today i tried making a plane that carries other vehicles using docking ports, but when i tried to dock.... Nothing.... it didnt dock, so naturally i played around with the settings of the ports, docking force, the ports themselves (sizes of the port), but with no result. i tried reinstalling the game. i also dont have mods. if it helps the vehicle i was docking to the plane had robotic parts ( hydraulic cylinders ), but even when those parts were off, it still didnt work. I also had my buddy try on his pc (we both run it through steam and windows), same result.
