Game won't start after 1.7.2 upgrade

Description

I just updated the game to 1.7.2 and tried to run it. The game will not open. In Steam, the icon lists that the game is running, and it shows up in my dock, but no windows open. The activity monitor shows the game stops responding within seconds of attempting to run it.

I uninstalled and reinstalled twice, after deleting all my mods, and have tried restarting my computer, with no luck.

After another restart, the game is starting correctly.

So, the sequence was:
1. Upgrade to 1.7.2. No start
2. Restart computer. No start.
3. Uninstall and reinstall. No start.
4. Clear mods, uninstall, reinstall. No start.
5. Restart computer. Works.
